Ruth has over 30 years experience

Ruth has worked across housing, health and social care, with complex partnerships and within the voluntary and statutory sector for the last 30 years. Starting off in VCS and then local authority Welfare Rights services, she earned the coveted right to join the Facebook group I parked my car on King Richard III’s head whilst based at Greyfriars.

Ruth worked at Care & Repair England and in social care commissioning in Leicestershire before leading the Supporting People programme in Nottinghamshire and joining CLG as a Specialist Advisor. With a commitment to strong communities and their preventative effect, she returned to the voluntary sector in 2013, establishing and leading Healthwatch Nottingham before her relocation to Leicester saw her head up the Leicester Ageing Together partnership programme

Ruth currently works across LAT and Reaching People. She is proudest of overseeing the development of new homelessness supported accommodation settings in Nottinghamshire and establishing the Community Connector team in East Leicester who did fantastic work during Covid lockdown. She remains optimistic about the opportunities presented by Social Prescribing to both the NHS and VCSE and is passionate about digital inclusion.
