Just ASK Digital Support Volunteer
We require volunteers with basic digital skills to support local people to access online information and services. Training is provided.
About this opportunity
In an increasingly digitalised world, often the only way to access information and services is online whether that’s making a doctor’s appointment, completing a housing application, accessing benefits or finding the best money saving deals. For many this is difficult and overwhelming not least because they lack the digital skills and confidence.
Just ASK (Access to Services and Know-how) is an initiative to help address this across Leicester City.
You don’t need to be an IT expert, however, you do need to be comfortable using the internet and have the confidence to support local people using community/food hubs, to understand and navigate websites so that they can access the information they need and build their confidence to do it themselves in future.
We welcome applicants who have language skills in languages that are widely spoken in Leicester e.g. Urdu, Gujarati, Polish and Hindi. We also welcome applicants who have BSL skills too.
Volunteers will either travel to or be based at one or more Leicester City food/community hub(s).
