Welcoming Helping Hands as new member
14th October 2024
We’re delighted to welcome Helping Hands Community Trust as the latest member of our Reaching People network.
Amy Davies, Chief Executive Officer at Helping Hands explains a bit more about the charity: “The Helping Hands Community Trust has been operating as a registered charity for 25 years.
“We support people facing multi-faceted and complex issues, by providing free independent advice tackling the underlying causes of poverty, deprivation, isolation and to increase the quality of life by delivering ongoing support, re-injecting confidence and empowerment to regain self-respect and control.
“We offer equality of access to our services, where our non-judgmental team welcomes, listens, and effectively unpacks the issues and problems relating to benefits, welfare rights, money management, housing issues, advocacy, legal advice, family law, mental health support, education, training, and employment. The Trust also provides advice and practical support to victims of Domestic Abuse and ex-offenders.
“We offer clients a personal ‘face to face’ service, tailored to meet their individual needs.
All our services are audited and accredited by the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), recognising excellence.
“We work in partnership with other organisations to ensure we reach the vulnerable within the communities we support.”
Commenting on this latest news, Amy continues: “I hope that by joining the Reaching People network, we can continue to support and empower the individuals and communities with whom we work. I strongly believe that working in partnership and collaboratively are very important in this sector.
“I am looking forward to working with other members to strengthen the sector and support a more effective way of creating a positive impact across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.”
