At Reaching People, we would like to mark this year’s Volunteers Week by recognising and celebrating the incredible contribution that volunteers make to our member networks, and the local communities they serve through their dedication, compassion and hard work.

Creating positive change through volunteering

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting local charities, strengthening communities and enabling organisations to respond to growing demand for services. For many charities, volunteers are at the heart of community support. They help organisations extend their reach, connect with more people and deliver services that may not be possible otherwise – sharing their valuable time, skills, experience, and passion.

Across Reaching People’s membership, almost 1,000 volunteers from all walks of life support communities in countless ways such as supporting foodbanks, raising dementia awareness, helping people access healthcare services, mentoring young people, running community activities, offering befriending support to those who may be isolated and more. Ultimately, they help to build stronger, more compassionate communities across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We would like to thank every volunteer, past and present, for all that they do.

Calling out to volunteers

Volunteering is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference, develop new skills and meet new people.

If you would like to join these incredible 1,000, please get in touch with Reaching People by calling 0116 255 2071 or via email at admin@reachingpeople.co.uk
