This particular client suffers from a medical condition which inhibits them from acting independently when it comes to driving. Here, they share their experience of receiving support from Reaching People’s Moneywise Living project.

“Atifa (from Reaching People) helped me to complete the bus pass application. I met her at Belgrave Library after being recommended by the staff members. Atifa supported in completing the application and uploading the proofs.

“Being able to renew my bus pass application meant that I was able to continue with my independent travel, as I’m not able to drive anymore with my medical condition.”

Additional support

The client continues: “Atifa also gave me some energy advice and told me how I can save money with my energy bills. She also gave me an LED lightbulb and told me it can save up to 85% off my energy light bill.”

The importance of an adviser

The client shares how without an advisor, the process would have been longer and more difficult saying: “I would’ve had to go through Citizens’ Advice and waited until an appointment was available. The library is also closer to me, so it meant I had to travel less.

“Atifa supported me in completing the process from start to finish. She completed the application, took my picture, uploaded the proofs and sent off the application through her email. She then also kept me updated until we had a response back from the bus pass department.

“I received great customer service. I felt Atifa was very polite and her kindness was impeccable,” the client concludes.
