Reaching People has recently gratefully received a donation of IT equipment from Women’s Aid Leicestershire. The desktop PCs will be now refurbished and re-distributed to people in the local community who need them.

Locally based non-profit organisation, Women’s Aid Leicestershire offers temporary refuge accommodation and support services for all victims of domestic abuse and violence, regardless of race, gender, age or sexual orientation.

Rebecca Benton, HR Manager at Women’s Aid Leicestershire explains: “We’ve been refreshing our IT equipment over the last couple of years and as more of our staff are now working out in the community, we’ve been switching from desktops to laptops.

“I was aware of Reaching People as some of our staff had participated on training with them previously, but it wasn’t until I was on the Reaching People website, looking for something else entirely, that I noted the Refurb IT project.

“In the past, we’ve just sent any unwanted IT equipment to commercial recycling companies but the Refurb IT project means that they’ll be passed on to someone who is in need and can really benefit from them. They will go to help local people, just as we aim to do in our daily jobs with Women’s Aid Leicestershire.”
