Reaching People appoints new trustee - Henrietta Chubb
6th November 2024
Reaching People is delighted to welcome Henrietta Chubb, former High Sheriff of Leicestershire, to our board of trustees.
Henrietta completed her year-long appointment as High Sheriff of Leicestershire in April 2024 and brings significant experience of the local and national charity sectors, in a range of trustee and patron roles.
In her recent role as High Sheriff, Henrietta was appointed by His Majesty the King to represent him in matters relating to the judiciary and the maintenance of law and order in Leicestershire. The role involved supporting and encouraging crime prevention agencies, the emergency services and the local voluntary sector.
Currently, she is a magistrate in Leicestershire (adult criminal and youth) and is on the steering group for No Going Back, a Livery Companies initiative supporting people from prison into employment on release. She is also on the Court of The Worshipful Company of Grocers, a grant-awarding body whose mission is to invest in, and support a broad range of small and medium-sized UK-registered charities that positively impact public benefit.
Henrietta is on the Board of Trustees at the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA and a Trustee of Harlaxton College, is a Patron of the charity CleanupUK, is a member of the Melton Friends of Rainbows Children’s Hospice Committee and for over 20 years, was a parish councillor and chair.
Commenting on her reasons for becoming a trustee of Reaching People, Henrietta said: “Through my extraordinary year as High Sherriff, I was fortunate to engage with many great local charities including Reaching People, which does incredible work.
“I’m very proud of Leicester and Leicestershire, and so the opportunity to offer help and assistance to Reaching People and its network by sharing my experience was an easy decision.
“Through my trustee role, I’m aiming to help Reaching People through the next stages in its development by bringing my trustee experience and an independent voice.”
