Reaching People has received a generous donation of laptops for our Refurb IT project from Giant UK, which will now be refurbished and distributed amongst people in the local community who need them
Jemma Ford, Facilities Co-ordinator at Giant UK Ltd, continues: “Our warehouse was full of stuff, including a big stack of old laptops. We go through a two-year refurbishment cycle for our IT, but we didn’t know what to do with the used laptops.
“We wanted them to be used for good so that we could avoid sending them to landfill. After some online research, we found details on the Refurb IT project. It met our requirements on several levels – it was local, was accepting donations and most importantly, was tracking where the systems had gone and what value they were bringing to the end users.
“The Refurb IT project is doing a wonderful job and we hope to provide some more equipment in the near future.”
