Thanks to supporters of our Refurb IT project, we have now provided over 180 digital devices to individuals and communities. In addition, 85% of recipients report improved access to employment opportunities or education through using their donated device.
Not only have these donations played a meaningful role in helping us to bridge the digital divide in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, it has also meant we have diverted approximately 400kg of electronic waste from landfill.
As digital access becomes increasingly essential for education, employment and everyday life, demand for Refurb IT continues to grow and we need continued support to help meet that demand.
Local organisations can support Refurb IT by:
Donating surplus laptops, tablets or other digital devices
Offering professional skills such as device refurbishment or digital skills training
Providing employee volunteer time to support administration or logistics
