COVID 19 Testing in Leicester
As I’m sure you know, Leicester City Council has been involved in the proactive COVID19 testing taking place in certain areas in the city. These focused areas of testing are selected based on a number of different factors, including the information we have about the levels of positive cases and where they are in Leicester.
Over the coming weeks a number of LSOA (Lower Super Output Area) locations are being targeted in areas that might be of interest to you. We will attempt to contact relevant organisations via email with details of which LSOAs will be focused on and when. However as this is a fluid process you can monitor the testing plan:
We need your help
We need to get the message out in the area about the planned testing. Given that you have a strong community presence, we’re calling for all the assistance we can get to encourage residents to engage with the testing activity in these areas when it gets underway.
Concerns of residents
For various reasons, some people appear to be uncertain about the legitimacy of those doing the door to door contacting, or might have other reasons for not taking part. We need also your recognised community voices to help us overcome these issues and as such we’re asking you to support this in any way you can, perhaps by:
- Getting messages out through community leaders and contacts to residents about the planned testing
- Utilising any channels you have to notify people that testing of those in the area will be taking place
- Supporting this testing activity by volunteering to have a community presence at the same time
Please see more on the Leicester City Council website:
We have a small team of Council officers dedicated to this engagement activity. If you have any questions about any of the above, do get in touch via c19VCS@leicester.gov.uk.
