Beat the Street is a fun, free game that gets the whole community moving, and its coming to Leicester on 26th May for 6 weeks.

Contactless sensors called Beat Boxes will be placed around Leicester on street lampposts, and players can walk, run and cycle between these Beat Boxes, collecting points on their Beat The Street cards for themselves and their team.

Is it Covid-19 safe? Yes. The game is played outdoors individually or in your household. The Beat Boxes are contactless and placed across the whole of Leicester with clear signage and social distancing markers and reminders.

How To Play

Find Beat Boxes around your area, hover your contactless card/fob to earn points for your team, and help win hundreds of pounds worth of prizes.

1: Register your card/fob at to join your chosen team.

2: Find your nearest Beat Box and hover your card/fob until it beeps and ashes.

3: Walk, run, cycle, scoot or roll to a different Beat Box within an hour. Hover your card/fob again and earn 10 points.

4: Carry on your journey. Score 10 points for each extra Beat Box you visit.

Beat the Street is an excellent opportunity for us to do something together, whilst being apart. Sign up with your work colleagues and compete against different teams in your workplaces. There are hundreds of pounds worth of sport vouchers up for grabs for the top teams. There will be a number of Distribution Points throughout the city where you can pick up a card (you’ll need this to collect those all-important points) and a map (to find the Beat Boxes). Distribution Points are listed on the website and materials will be available before the game starts.
